Mildred Serfling, 90, formerly of Harmony, died at Regional Health Services of Howard County on November 27, 2000.

Mildred was born on July 22, 1910 in Carrolton Township, Fillmore County, the daughter of Ole and Helene (Olson) Sorum. She graduated from Harmony High School. Mildred was united in marriage to Vernon B. Serfling on May 5, 1948 in Lanesboro. She and Vernon resided on their farm south of Harmony until recently when they moved to the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, IA.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon and a nephew and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ella Sorum Haugen, and her brothers, Ilot, Herbert, and Raymond.

Services for Mrs. Serfling were held at the Union Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro on Thursday, November 30, 2000 with the Rev. Kerry Eversole officiating. Burial was in State Line Cemetery in rural Harmony. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony was in charge of arrangements.
