Morris Pederson, 81, of Mabel, a former truck driver and machinery salesman, died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel.

He was born October 9, 1919, in Amherst Township, Fillmore County, and attended school in Choice, MN. On May 17, 1941, he married Grace Vickerman in Lanesboro and they lived in the Mabel area most of their married lives. His wife died Nov. 4, 1995. Mr. Pederson hauled livestock for Bill Welch, delivered fuel for Kraus Oil Co. and sold machinery for Mabel Farm Equipment and Arlin Faulk. He was a member of Mabel First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Richard of Mabel; two daughters, Gloria (Arden) Vang and Nancy (Mike) Aske, both of Mabel; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille (Oliver) Loken of Rushford and Deloris (Harold) Blagsvedt of Spring Grove; two brothers, Dale and Carroll, both of La Crosse, WI; and a special friend, Elmira Rosheim of Mabel. A sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral for Mr. Pederson was held Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at First Lutheran Church in Mabel with the Rev. Lloyd Menke officiating. Burial was in Mabel Lutheran Cemetery.
