Glenn Brink, 86, of Preston, died Friday, November 24, 2000, at Harmony Health Care in Harmony.

He was born April 3, 1914, in Florenceville, Iowa, grew up in Cherry Grove and was confirmed in the Lutheran church in Spring Valley. He married Ruth Ramaker on March 25, 1936, in Spring Valley. The couple farmed in a number of places in Fillmore County until retiring in 1973 and moving into Preston. He then worked for Liudahl Plumbing and Heating in Harmony and then Dick's Automation in Preston for a number of years. He was a member of Preston United Methodist Church and a former member of the Cherry Grove EUB.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don (Sylvia) of Harmony and Jerry (Linda) of Rochester; a daughter, Joyce (Richard) Prinsen of Greenleafton; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Helen Engle of Harmony, Sophia (Harry) Englehart of Chester, Iowa, Florence Miller of Preston and Dorothy (Wally) Santo of Janesville, MN. He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter and three brothers.

A memorial service for Mr. Brink was held Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at Preston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Anthony Fink officiating. Burial of the ashes was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Preston. Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston was in charge of arrangements.
