Gerald Daskam, 81, of rural Harmony, died Friday, December 1, 2000, at his home.

He was born September 24, 1919, in Orleans Township in Winneshiek County, IA. He attended school in Kendallville, IA. On June 1, 1941, he married Doris Greenslade at her rural Cresco, IA, home. They farmed in rural Cresco for 10 years before moving to Harmony in 1952.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Geraldine (Sid) Linville of Maplewood, MN, Judy (Gerald) Vreeman of Spring Valley, JoAnn (Curt) Ballman of Waterville, MN, and Charles (Debbie) of Harmony; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy (Roger) Ryan of Harmony. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

The funeral for Gerald Walter Daskam was held Monday, December 4, 2000, at the United Methodist Church in Harmony, with the Rev. David Laechel officiating. Burial was in State Line Cemetery in Harmony. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony was in charge of arrangements.
