Goldie M. Kappers, 81, of Spring Valley, a longtime area farm homemaker, died Saturday, Decmber. 9, 2000 at Olmsted Community Hospital in Rochester.

Goldie Mae Hovey was born December. 30, 1918, in York Township, Fillmore County, and attended area country schools. On Oct. 5, 1939, she married Floyd "Ted" Kappers in Ostrander and they farmed in the Spring Valley area for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlecrafts, gardening
and word puzzles.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Bonnie (Ivan) TerMaat; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harvey Hovey and Wayne Hovey, both of Lime Springs, Iowa. A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

The funeral for Goldie M. Kappers was held on Tuesday, December 12, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Kevin Woestehoff officiating. Burial was in Spring Valley Cemetery. Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
