Alfred Meyer, 93, of rural Fountain, died of a heart attack Thursday, December 14, 2000 at his home.

He was born November 24, 1907, near Wykoff. On July 29, 1931, he married Winnie Hall in Lanesboro, and they moved to Fountain in 1931. He was a farmer, and served on the Fountain Rural School Board and with the Farm Bureau, as well as in several church offices.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David (Diane) of Fountain; three grandchildren; brothers Paul (Jennie), Otto, and Edward (June) Meyer, all of Wykoff; Marvin (Darlene) of Spring Valley; sisters Amanda Laue of Pine Island, Martha Rollie and Magdeline Jeske, both of Wykoff, and Edna Schultz of Spring Valley.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

The funeral for Alfred Albert Meyer was Monday, December 18, 2000 at Root Prairie Lutheran Church near Fountain, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Curtis Fox officiated.

Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
