Robert Jackson, 81, of Harmony, an executive vice president of Harmony State Bank, died Wednesday, December, 13, 2000 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Born Sept. 4, 1919, in Owasa, Iowa, he graduated from Eldora, Iowa, High School and then worked in the Hardin County, Iowa, auditor's office. During World War II, he served in the Army, with duty in the European theater, and after that, worked for Krause Gentle Petroleum. In the 1980s, he moved to Harmony and was executive vice president of Harmony State Bank, now 1st SE Bank. Mr. Jackson was an honorary board member of Krause Gentle Corp., and served on the boards of 1st SE Bank of Harmony, Canton State Bank and Harmony Golf Club.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas of Toluca Lake, CA, and Mark of Sherman Oaks, CA.; two grandsons; two sisters, Maryeda Johnson of Grand Junction, CO., and Patricia Hall of Long Beach, WA.; two brothers, Andrew of Spring Hill, FL, and Wilbur of Santa Fe, NM; and his companion, Linda Everson.

The funeral for Robert Jackson was Monday, December 18, at United Methodist Church in Harmony, with the Rev. David Laechel officiating. Burial was Sunday in Berlin Cemetery in Jackson Township, near Owasa, Iowa.

Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony was in charge of arrangements.
