Dorothy Willmarth, 85, a retired Spring Valley High School custodian, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, in Maple Manor Nursing Home.

Dorothy Denny was born December 1, 1914, in Minneapolis. She married Hugh Willmarth in Spring Valley on November 19, 1933. He was a farm laborer in Spring Valley for many years, a field supervisor for the former Reed-Murdoch canning company in Rochester and was a custodian at Spring Valley High School. The couple lived in Spring Valley from 1942 until 1992, when they moved to Rochester. She was a custodian at Spring Valley High School until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester and the Frankfurt B.I. Club.

Surviving are three sons, David (Sandy) of Cottage Grove, MN, Robert (Priscilla) of Rochester and Donald (Monika) of Huntsville, AL; two daughters, Darla (Frank) Moore of Keewatin, MN, and Rita (Howard) Kane of Minneapolis; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlaine (Frank) Sparrow of Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, a grandson, and a great-grandchild.

The funeral for Mrs. Willmarth was held Friday, December 1, 2000, in Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester, the Rev. Duane Gebhardt officiating. The body was cremated with burial in Frankfurt Cemetery near Spring Valley.
