Jason Ristau, 28, of St. Michael Lutheran Home in Fountain City, and a former resident of Hiawatha Children's Home in Rochester, died Sunday, December 24, 2000, at the home.

He was born October 17, 1972, in Minneapolis. On January 1, 1973, he was injured in a car accident that left him to live a life with very special needs. He lived at home for four years, then became a resident of Hiawatha Children's Home in Rochester for 18 years. For the past six years he had been a resident of St. Michael Home.

Survivors include his mother, Diane Ristau of Winona; his father, Eugene (Barbara) Ristau of Lakeville, MN; one brother, Thomas Ristau of Eagan, MN; one sister, Shannon Ristau of Minneapolis; his paternal grandfather, Roy Ristau of Preston; and his maternal grandparents, Lucille and Eugene Bagniewski of Fountain City. His paternal grandmother preceded him in death.

A funeral Mass for Mr. Ristau was held Thursday, December 28, 2000, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fountain City, WI, with the Rev. Douglas Charles Robertson officiating. There will be a spring burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fountain City.
