Frederick B. 'Fritz' Miller

Frederick Miller, 67, of Ostrander, died Monday, December 25, 2000, at his home.

Frederick B. Miller was born February 26, 1933, in Dundee, IL, and moved with his family to the Ostrander area in 1945. He graduated from LeRoy High School in 1950 and attended Rochester Junior College. Serving in the U.S. Army for two years, he was stationed at Fort Lawton in Washington. Prior to and following his military service, he was employed by Hadland-Vreeman and then Hadland-Osterud of Ostrander. On June 19, 1959, he married Shirley Ann Langlie at Ostrander Lutheran Church. They resided in Ostrander for two years before purchasing a dairy farm near Ostrander where he lived until his death. He served on the LeRoy Creamery Board from 1977-1998, was currently serving on the Ostrander City Council, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and Ostrander American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, David of Champaign, IL, and Daniel (Cara) of Spring Valley; three daughters, Donna (Craig) Springer and Julie Yost, both of Rochester, and Carrie of Ostrander; six grandchildren; and one brother, Herman Jr. (Jeanne) of Ostrander. He was preceded in death by a brother.

The funeral for Mr. Miller was held Thursday, December 28, 2000 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ostrander, with the Rev. Norman Bauer officiating. Burial was in Ostrander Cemetery. Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home, LeRoy, was in charge of arrangements.
