Charles “Chuck” Clink

Charles “Chuck” Clink, 74, of Pequot Lakes, MN, formerly from the Harmony area, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River, MN.

He was born July 18, 1926 in Kendalville, IA to William and Nora (Johnson) Clink. He graduated from Harmony High School. He married LaVonne Lein on September 2, 1951 at Fremont Lutheran Church, rural Cresco. He farmed in the rural Cresco area until 1973. He then moved to Pequot Lakes and owned and operated Twin Point Resort on Lake Ossawinnam-ekee. In 1978, he move to Mayo Lake. He was a school bus driver for the Pequot Lakes School District for close to 18 years. He also did maintenance for Breezy Point Lodge Apart-ments. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and a past trustee. In 1990, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and his health declined. He entered Whispering Pines on February 5, 1995 where he resided until his death.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonne; a daughter, Ruth (David) Fritcher, Lime Springs; six sons, David (Julie) Clink, DePere, WI; Donald Clink, Alpine, CA; Dwain (Ruth) Clink, Maple Plain, MN; Dean (Monica) Clink, Pequot Lakes; Daryl (Stacy) Clink, Breezy Point, MN; and Danny (Mary) Clink, Brooklyn Park, MN; and 19 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a son Dale, two grandsons and his parents.

Services for Mr. Clink were held on Monday, October 9, 2000 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with the Rev. David Stevens officiating. Burial was at the Fremont Lutheran Cemetery in Cresco.
