Edwin A. Bicknese, 94, of Chatfield, a retired farmer, died Monday December, 25, 2000 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where he had lived since June 30, 1997.

He was born October 19, 1906, in rural Chatfield, Olmsted County. On Oct. 26, 1927, he married Lorena Kohlmeyer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wykoff. She died January 13. Mr. Bicknese farmed in rural Stewartville before returning to the Chatfield area in 1942. He moved into Chatfield in 1976. A lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, he held a number of offices and was an elder for many years. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Gerald (Violet) of Chatfield; a daughter, Yvonne (Bob) Fix of Winona; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

The funeral for Edwin A. Bicknese was held on Thursday, December 28, 2000, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chatfield, with the Rev. Clark Jaeger officiating. Spring burial will be in the church cemetery.
