Ronald Wayne Kiehne

Ronald Wayne Kiehne, 64, of rural Harmony, died Tuesday, January 2, 2001, due to a farm accident.

Mr. Kiehne was born on November 10, 1936 at the family farm, the son of Ethel and Emil Kiehne. He graduated from Harmony High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Airforce and worked for many years at IBM in Rochester before taking over the Kiehne family farm in 1973. He was united in marriage to Betty Tepoel on November 23, 1973 in Rochester. Ron was an avid sportsman and conservationist. Other hobbies included collecting antique rifles along with restoring and showing vintage John Deere tractors.

Ronald Kiehne is survived by his wife Betty; three sons, Scott of Oakdale, MN; Randall (Margaret) of Oakdale, MN; Steven (Lauree) of South St. Paul; one daughter, Marsha Kiehne of Minneapolis; four step-children, Jane Garbisch of Portland, OR; Sue (Eric) Torgerson of New Ulm, MN; John (Mary) Garbisch of Rochester; and Barbara (Mark) Hermanson of Lanesboro; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Kiehne of Harmony and Allan Lange of Bryant, TX. He is also survived by his mother.

Mr. Kiehne was preceded in death by his father who passed away on August 9, 1999.

Funeral Services for Ronald Kiehne were held on Saturday, January 6, 2000, at St. Paulís Lutheran Church in Big Spring, rural Harmony. Burial was in the Big Spring Cemetery, with military honors by the Gustav Berg American Legion Post of Harmony. Lindstrom Funeral Home of Harmony was in charge of arrangements.
