Richard Frazer, 60, of rural Preston, died Thursday, January 18, 2001, at his home following a short illness.

He was born October 29, 1940, in Fillmore County, the son of Christian and Delma (Yaste) Frazer. He attended school in both Preston and Spring Valley. Following school, Richard worked at various jobs throughout Minnesota including working for the highway department in Preston. On June 17, 1977, he was united in marriage to Sandra Meyer at the Little Brown Church in Nasuha, IA. Following their marriage, the couple lived in the rural Preston area. Richard worked at AFC in Chatfield, Gauthier Industries in Rochester and for the last 12 years at Featherlite in Cresco. Richard enjoyed making metal lawn ornaments and selling them at craft shows. He also made cement fish ponds and enjoyed watching his goldfish. He was also an avid bird watcher.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra, three sons, Tracy (Susan) Serfoss, and William and Robert Frazer, all of rural Preston, a grandson, Dallas Serfoss, and one sister, Pearl Wrase of River Falls, WI.

The funeral service for Mr. Frazer will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2001, at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston with Revs. James Rushton and Bernard Daiker officiating. Burial will be in the spring. Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston is in charge of arrangements.
