Wally Solberg, 57, of Lanesboro, died of a heart attack Friday, December 29, 2000, in an ambulance en route to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

He was born May 27, 1943, in Peterson and married Sandra Chiglo on January 7, 1963, in Luverne, MN. He lived in the Peterson and Rushford area until moving to Lanesboro in 1963. He owned and operated Solberg Construction Co. and was a member of Whalan Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jody of Lanesboro, Gregory of Conroe, Texas, and Kevin of Conroe; a brother, Harold of Kasson; and three sisters, Carolyn (Carl) Wagner of Hammond, Janel Torgerson of Byron and Norine (Lonny) Remund of Minneapolis.

The funeral for Mr. Solberg was held Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at Whalan Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul R. Johnson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro was in charge of arrangements.
