Ronald Iverson, 51, of Winona, formerly of Rushford, died Thursday, January 18, 2001, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Wabasha.

He was born August 19, 19, in Rushford. He graduated from Rushford High School, where he was named all-conference in football for two years. After high school, he joined the Navy and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his return from Vietnam, he attended welding school in Ohio and then moved to Winona and worked as a welder. In October 1985, he began working for the Army Corps of Engineers as a deck hand on the Dredge Thompson, later becoming a river pilot. In 1990, he transferred to maintenance and repairs. He was an outdoorsman and liked to fish and hunt with his dog.

Survivors include his mother, Grace Iverson of Rushford; a brother, Ross L. Iverson of Rushford; and two sisters, Gayle Noel of Onalaska, WI, and Nancy Atkinson of Peterson. He was preceded in death by his father.
