•The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities has announced it’s Dean’s List for fall semester, 2000. The following local students were named to the list: Brit Ofstedal, Harmony; Amanda Bovy, Rushford; Sarah Burmeister, Emily Dahl, and Ashley Greene, all of Spring Valley.

•Alicia Lacher, daughter of Cynthia and Gilbert Lacher, was named to the Dean’s List at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA.

•Andrew Halverson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Halverson of Spring Grove, was named to the Dean’s List at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona. He is a sophomore at St. Mary’s.

•Christopher Benson of Lanesboro, Benjamin Thorson of Mabel, and Teresa Kingsbury of Peterson, all graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stout during graduation ceremonies held in December.

•Andrea Reis, Cindy Truka, and Katherine Stecher, all of Lime Springs, IA, were placed on the Dean’s List at Iowa State University - Ames campus for outstanding academic achievement.

•Over 450 hours of volunteer service have been performed by the 54 teachers and students at St. John’s Lutheran School in Wykoff. Projects included presenting musical and dance programs for the Spring Valley Nursing Home, presenting ethnic German dances for the Wykoff Fall Fest and by request for other local groups, assisting with unloading and packing boxes at the local food shelf, and other individual family activities.
