Vina S. VanGrevenhof

Vina S. VanGrevenhof, age 90, of Ostrander, a longtime postal clerk, died February 5, 2001 at Ostrander Nursing Home, where she had lived about four years.

Vina Sophia Ruud was born May 16, 1910, near Rock Dell, to Christian Ruud and Alice Hillestad Ruud. She attended school in Ostrander through the eighth grade, and graduated from Spring Valley High School. On Nov. 14, 1935, she married Jacob VanGrevenhof in Ostrander and they farmed in the Ostrander area. She also worked at Langlie Grocery in Ostrander and was a postal clerk in Ostrander for 31 years. Her husband died in 1993. Mrs. VanGrevenhof was a member of Bloomfield Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flowers and crocheting.

She is survived by a niece, a brother-in-law and many cousins. A brother also preceded her in death.

The funeral for Vina S.VanGrevenhof was held February 8 2001 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ostrander, with the Rev. Norman Bauer officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery in rural Ostrander. Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy was in charge of arrangements.
