Teman E. Johnson

Teman Johnson, 85, of Lanesboro, a retired school custodian, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001, at Green Lea Manor in Mabel.

He was born Sept. 12, 1915, in Tawney, MN, and attended Tawney country school. During World War II, he served in the Army in Normandy, was involved in many campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge, and received the Bronze Star. After the war, he returned to Lanesboro. Mr. Johnson was a farmer and carpenter in the Lanesboro area and for nine years before his retirement, was a school custodian in Lanesboro. On August 29, 1971, he married Mildred Torgerson at Elstad Lutheran parsonage. His wife survives and lives in Mabel.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral for Teman E. Johnson was held Saturday, February 10, 2001, at Elstad Lutheran Church in rural Lanesboro, with the Rev. Rod Nygren officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, with full military rites. Thauwald Funeral Home in Preston was in charge of arrangements.
