Harvey E. Dohrmann, 79, of Fountain, a former farmer and businessman, died February 13, 2001 at his home.

Born April 12, 1921, in Milton Township, Dodge County, he lived in rural Mantorville and operated the Pine Island Pool Hall. On Oct. 23, 19, he married Mary Shanks in Pine Island and they lived in Pine Island until 1950, when they began farming in the Dover-Eyota area. Mr. Dohrmann owned and operated Canton Feed and Seed from 1964 to 1974 and then owned Canton Grocery until 1982. He had lived in Fountain the past 10 years. He had been a deacon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pine Island and Henrytown Lutheran Church, and was also a member of Fountain Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling and sports.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bradley (Stacey) of Fountain and Brian (Mara)of Winston, GA.; three daughters, Peggy (Thomas) Edmonds of Houston, TX, Kathleen (David) Gudmundson of Fountain and Sandra Hafner of Arden Hills, MN.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; six stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Karyl (Karen) of Kasson; and four sisters, Clara Buehler of St. Charles, Bertha Graunke of Amery, WI., Ella (Richard) Finley of Mantorville and Irene Jensen of Rochester. A son and four sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral for Harvey E. Dohrmann was held February 16, 2001 at the Fountain Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Curtis Fox officiating. Burial was in the Pine Island Cemetery. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
