Donald Cook, age 88, of Iowa Falls, died on February 26, 2001at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls.

Donald was born on August 10, 1912 in St. Paul, MN, the son of Frank and Catherine Flynn Cook. He attended school in St. Paul and Preston, MN. He was united in marriage to June Schroeder of Spring Lake, MN. in 1938. To this union were born two sons, Robert and David. After the death of his first wife, he married Viola Andersen Hundahl on January 16, 1982. Donald spent four years in the African Division of the Army during WWII. Returning to Preston, he spent the next 35 yrs. in Law Enforcement, first as Sheriff of Fillmore County and then as Head of Security at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a member of the St. Mark's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, V.F.W., Hyman-Peavy American Legion Post #188, and the Iowa Falls Elks Club B.P.O.E. Lodge #1674.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; two sons, Robert and wife, Ellen of Wantaugh, Long Island, N.Y. and David and wife, Teresa of Forest Lake, MN; one step-son, Dean Hundahl and wife, Corinne of Iowa Falls; a step-daughter, Mary Hieber and husband, Keith of Moorhead; 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 11 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, June; one brother, Harold; one sister, Mary Kay; a step-son, James Hundahl; and a step-grandson, Nathan Hieber.

Funeral services were held March 1, 2001 at the St. Mark's Catholic Church in Iowa Falls with burial in the St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery.
