Myrtle Ovedia Danielson

Myrtle Ovedia Danielson, 91, of Chatfield, a former area farm homemaker, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient five days.

Myrtle Ovedia Olson was born April 24, 1909, in rural Peterson. On July 24, 1927, she married Elnor H. Danielson in Lanesboro and they farmed in the Chatfield area. After her husband's death in 1983, she moved to Lakewood Apartments in Chatfield. Mrs. Danielson was a member of Pilot Mound Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and crafts. She had made a number of quilts for nursing homes and for Ronald McDonald House.

Survivors include two sons, Roger (Linda) of Chatfield and Robert (Marge) of Grand Meadow; six daughters, Darlene (Bruce) Sutherland of Chatfield, Marlys (Elvin) Paulson of Rushford, Phyllis Ellis of Minneapolis, Marilyn (Richard) Lykken of Waseca, Minn., Gloria (Nevin) Vrieze of Fountain and Linda (Thomas) Jensen of Lewisville, Texas; 39 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elida Engrav of Rushford. She was preceded in death by three sons, six brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren.

The funeral for Mrs. Danielson was held Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Pilot Mound Lutheran Church in rural Chatfield with the Rev. Curtis Fox officiating. Spring burial will be in the church cemetery. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
