Grace Edna Busian, 89, of Good Shepherd Home in Rushford, died March 29, 2001 at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.

Grace Edna Gerry was born Dec. 21, 1911, in Saratoga Township of Winona County. She graduated from Winona State Teachers College and taught country school for seven years. On Sept. 15, 1938, she married Elwin Busian. The couple farmed south of St. Charles before moving to town in 1958. Until their retirement, they owned and operated the St. Charles Greenhouse. Mr. Busian died in 1996. Mrs. Busian had lived at the Good Shepherd Home for the past three years. She was a member of St. Charles United Church of Christ, where she was organist. She was active in the Sunshine Chapter No. 98 Order of the Eastern Star in St. Charles and was organist for them. They were well known for their annual "Busian Breakfast" in their home, a tradition which still continues at their church.

Survivors include one sister, Ellen Ann Coulson of St. Charles. A brother preceded her in death.

The funeral for Grace Edna Busian was held April 3, 2001 at the St. Charles United Church of Christ with the Rev. Paul Wissink officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Saratoga Cemetery.
