The historic Lenora United Methodist Church in Fillmore County has made arrangements to provide a meeting space with indoor restroom and kitchen facilities for small group and retreat events. The Friends of Lenora Church have leased a small home adjacent to the historic church building in order to make the church building more accessible for more people. However, the "Lenora House" needs work and repair. Currently the house needs to be repaired and improved for church use.
Retired Kingsland High School educator and current mayor of Wykoff, Mr. Michael Holzer, is coordinating repair work with assistance from other professionals, including Mr. Jon Willford of Vis Plumbing and Heating of Lanesboro.
When completed, it is hoped that the Lenora House will be a very useable place that will enhance the historic Lenora Church site. Much gratitude is also expressed to the youth and leaders of Plainview-Elgin Peace United Methodist Church as they contributed to the "gutting" and preparation of the house for renovation. Interested persons who would be willing to contribute financial donations may send them to the Lenora Church treasurer at: P.O. Box 10 Eyota, MN 55934.
