Ivan Kukuk, 77, of Lanesboro, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, died Friday, April 6, 2001 at his granddaughter’s home in Larchmont, NY of an apparent heart attack.

Ivan Vere Kukuk, son of Austin Kenneth and Estella Tillie (Herman) Kukuk, was born August 17, 1923 in Wentworth, SD and grew up in the Timber Lake, SD area. He was united in marriage with Charlotte Grace Goodroad on October 9, 1943, in Canton, SD. After their marriage the couple made their home in Sioux Falls. During WWII Ivan served in the U.S. Army. He worked in the automobile business his entire life and was employed at several Chevrolet dealerships in the Sioux Falls area. He had the distinction of driving the first Corvette delivered in Sioux Falls. He retired as manager of the parts department at Vern Eide Buick in 1987. He has made his home in Lanesboro the past five years.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Kukuk of Lanesboro; a son, Terry (Judy) Kukuk of Bainbridge Island, WA; a daughter, Nancy Martinson of Stewartville, MN; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Kukuk were held Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
