F. Ronald Johnson

F. Ronald Johnson, 77, of Lanesboro, a retired farmer, died April 28, 2001 at Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis., of complications of Parkinson's disease. He resided at Harmony Nursing Home for two months before entering the hospital on April 25.

Born Oct. 13, 1923, in rural Whalan, he lived and farmed in Holt Township, Fillmore County, all his life until moving into Lanesboro following his retirement in 1986. On Oct. 22, 1943, he married Myrna Jensson at First Lutheran Church of Highland. She died Sept. 17, 1994. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church of Highland, a former member of the cemetery board and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

Survivors include a son, Douglas (Linda) of rural Lanesboro; a daughter, Bonnie (David) Solberg of Spring Grove; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Wayne of rural Whalan; and a sister, Ellen (Rolland) Brekke of Shell Rock, Iowa. A grandson preceded him in death.

The funeral for F. Ronald Johnson was held on May 2, 2001 at First Lutheran Church of Highland in rural Whalan, with the Rev. Paul R. Johnson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro was in charge of arrangements.
