Mabel A. Lynch, 92, of Rushford, a longtime Lanesboro resident and retired cook, died May 7, 2001 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford where she had resided since 1987.

Mabel A. Thoen was born May 14, 1908, in rural Lanesboro and graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1926. She lived in Chicago and Milwaukee before returning to Lanesboro in 1945. She married Thomas F. Lynch in 1943. He died in May 1971. Mrs. Lynch was a cook at several restaurants and Lanesboro Public School.

Survivors include a son, T.J. of Troy, Mich., and two grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death.

A funeral Mass for Mabel A. Lynch was held May12, 2001 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial was in Holt Cemetery in rural Lanesboro. Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro was in charge of arrangements.
