Margaret F. Rowe, 75, of Wykoff, died May 17, 2001 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester after a courageous battle with cancer.

Margaret F. Freiheit was born Dec. 19, 1925, near Spring Valley, the daughter of Walter and Leona (Hintze) Freiheit. She graduated from Wykoff High School. On March 11, 1948, she married Kenneth R. Rowe on her family’s farm in rural Spring Valley. He died in 1989. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wykoff. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, needlework and volunteering throughout the community.

Survivors include one son, Theodore (Judy) Rowe of Austin; one daughter, Elizabeth (Tracy) Anderson of Manitowoc, Wis.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrna (Ernest) Rowe of Fountain and Dorothy Rowe of Crete, Neb.

The funeral for Margaret F Rowe was held May 21, 2001 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wykoff with the Rev. Rodel Eberle officating. Thauwald Funeral Home in Wykoff was in charge of arrangments.
