Blanche L Oliver, 101, of Chatfield, died June 14, 2001 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where she had lived since February of 1999.

Blanche Kendall was born Aug. 18, 1899, in Chatfield. She attended school through the eighth grade and married Andrew Oliver on April 26, 1928. She was a lifetime resident of the Chatfield area. On her 100th birthday, Chatfield Mayor Greg Forbes proclaimed it Blanche Oliver Day in Chatfield. Her husband died Sept. 27, 1977.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Knutson of Rochester and Delores (Lloyd) Papenfus of Rock Falls, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a grandson, two great-grandsons, a brother and a sister.

The funeral was held June 17, 2001 at United Methodist Church in Chatfield, the Rev. Dennis Cox-Townsend officiating. Burial was in Orion Center Cemetery in Cummingsville. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
