The American Dream
Yesterday, I walked across a rolling field
Once battled scared and torn
Imagined I could hear the voices of soldiers
Their faces tired and worn
What did they feel, these silent warriors
As they braved death for us all.
And forged the way for those who followed
To stand up proud and tall.

Happy 4th of July. This is a special day for us all. How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful country. When we hear of all the fightings in other countries, I feel we are so blessed and can worship in any religion we want. God Bless America!

The teenager had been on the phone for half an hour. When she finally got off, her father looked up from his paper, You usually talk for two hours, he said. What stopped you this time? Wrong number, she replied.

Most of us would be glad to pay as we go, if we could only catch up on paying for where weve been.

Think
Dont be too hard on the person who sins,
For the yardstick you lay on another
May someday be used as a measure for you;
Oh,be gracious and judge not, my brother!

Where did these sayings come from

~In 1500s houses had straw roofs with no wood underneath. Pets would sit on the roof in cold weather. But if it rained, the roof became slippery, and the animals would slide off the roof. Thats how the saying, Its raining cats and dogs, came to be.

~In 1500 loaves of bread were divided according to status. Workers got the bottom of the loaf (often scorched), the family got the middle, and guests got the top or the upper crust.

~In 1500s in a tub of water, the man took the first bath, then his wife and children. The baby was always last. Hence the expression: Dont throw the baby out with the bath water, got started.

Hints

A pinch to grow an inch

~If you want to grow whopper tomatoes, pinch off all the suckers that develop in the crook between the branches and the main stem. This will make the plant stronger and the fruit much bigger.

~To prevent buildup on your grater when shredding cheese, first lightly brush the grater with cooking oil.

Right Words - Reduce Stress

I do is enough to help you get started, but if you want a less stressful marriage, youll need to memorize a few other pairs of words. They are: Thank you, Im sorry, Youre right, Thats ok, Dont worry, and Yes, dear.
