I disagree with Rory Kramer's assessment of the Fillmore County Journal (Letter to the Editor, June 11, 2001). I find it a much more interesting paper than it was ten years ago. For one thing it became a REAL newspaper when it started publishing letters to the editor. I enjoy the many columnists, especially Alan Mathison and John Torgrimson, and the Journal's observations of the County Commissioners meetings, which is frequently different than the dry articles in other papers. I now read the paper weekly; previously I only glanced through it. Keep up the good work!

Perhaps you could clear up a question that some us in Lanesboro have: How does our recycling program work?

The garbage truck used to haul a recycling trailer behind it, but that was a long time ago. Now everything goes into the garbage truck. Does someone climb in there and sort it out at the end of the day? I think not!

I would prefer not to waste my time and energy sorting if we dont even have a recycling program.

Could someone please explain how this works?
