Kathryn Ann Niemeyer

Mrs. Niemeyer, 84, of Chatfield, a homemaker, died of cancer Sunday (July 15, 2001) at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where she had lived since May 1999.

Kathryn McCormick was born March 25, 1917, in Lewiston, graduated from Chatfield High School and lived in Chatfield most of her life. Before her marriage she worked at the Consolidated Aircraft parachute factory in San Diego, Calif. On July 12, 1948, she married Ernest Niemeyer in Chatfield. He died March 10, 1990. Mrs. Niemeyer was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Royal Neighbors and VFW Auxiliary and was a SEMCAC volunteer.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest "Rick" (Debra) of Hammond and Michael (Mary) of Woodbury, Minn.; three daughters, Mary Green of Stillwater, Minn., Connie Niemeyer of Waterloo, Iowa, and Julie (Peter) Pairolero of Adams; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two infant brothers and three infant sisters.

The funeral for Kathryn Ann Niemeyer was held Wednesday , July 18, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chatfield, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
