Was lazy the other day so I started reading the book “Butter in the Well,” and what those people went through just to stay alive was amazing. It is a diary from 1869 and those people came from Sweden over to America and and ended up in Salina, Kansas. They traveled and slept in their wagon for months, found some land they liked, and then put up or I should say “dug” and made a one room sod-house and were so happy to get to own a piece of land they could call their own.
I was hesitant that day if I should get out my vacumn cleaner and clean a little. After I was reading in that book she had no broom till her dear husband made a small broom out of dry, long-stem weeds, which he twisted and tied tight so she could sweep her dirt floor, it didn’t take me very long to plug in my vacumn cleaner and clean I did.

Wife’s viewpoint
When disagreement comes our way
We seldom ever fight;
We just calmly talk things over
To find out why I’m right.

Facts of life:
• If you want a place in the sun, you’d better expect to get some blisters
• The fellow who paddles his own canoe seldom rocks the boat
• You got to have some pepper to be worth your salt
• It’s amazing how much good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit
• Cleanliness is next to Godliness, but in childhood it’s next to impossible
• Sometimes fires are started by friction, the mortgage rubbing against the insurance policy

Hint
Place apple cider in a 32-cup percolator coffee maker and fill the coffee basket halfway with red-hot candies for a tasty autumn or holiday beverage.

Heavy cow-culation
It takes:
• 21.2 lbs of whole milk to make 1 lb of butter
• 12 lbs of whole milk to make 1 gallon of ice cream
• 10 lbs of whole milk to make 1 lb of cheddar cheese
• 6.3 lbs of whole milk to make 1 lb of cottage cheese
