The year just past,
Is like a door.
Shut tight and locked
“Forevermore.”
Gone is the year,
Of two-thousand one
No Longer yours,
No longer mine
Some days were good,
Some days were bad,
Some were joyful
And some were sad.
I made mistakes,
And so did you
What has been done,
We can’t undo.
But we can pray and
God will hear.
Help us improve, in this
“New Year!”
Doesn’t the years roll by and I’m hoping you all had a “Merry Christmas” and now its time to say “Happy New Year” may God Bless us all and also our nation, and keep flying our flag and praying for our country.

Old Hank Smith became so ill his wife Lizzie, sent for the doctor, when old Hank heard the doc enter the house, he closed his eyes and didn’t move. Doc looked him over and said in a loud voice, “Why, this man’s dead!” Just then old Hank’s eyes flew open and he yelled at the doctor, “I haint dead!” “Now, Hank, you just hush up,” Lizzie scolded, “Doc knows a lot more about that than you do.”

Did you know that while a little common sense would prevent most divorces - it would also prevent most marriages.

Old age is not a time to coast - but to climb

One reason you can’t take it with you is that is goes before you do.

When I was eight,
I collected marbles.
And I knew how to use them.
It was not until I was 80
That I began to lose them.

I can’t believe it
• It was so cold where my friend lived and he had some tame rabbits, and he had to use jumper cables to get them started in the morning.
• It was so cold at our house, that it froze a pot of coffee I was boiling on the stove.
• It was so cold in December the kids had to go outside, bring the television radio waves in the house and thaw them out so we could turn on our set.
• Our electricity was off so I lit an oil-lamp and the flame froze and I wasn’t able to blow it out till the January thaw.
• We have a combination furnace - oil and wood, and the smoke froze so we pushed the smoke up the chimney, cut it off in blocks and used it to smoke our hams.
• I heard that out west they haven’t had rain for so long that some churches for baptisms are just sprinkling the water, some are using a damp cloth and some are issuing rain checks.
• Thank goodness the cold spell didn’t last all winter! I feel sorry for the people who live where it is so dry. I read that out west it was so dry the creeks would only run 3 days a week.

Sauerkraut Hotdish
3 lbs hamburger
3 cups sauerkraut
dry egg noodles
2 cans cream of chicken (or mushroom soup)
Brown hamburger, salt and pepper to taste. Place meat in ovenproof dish. Add 3 cups sauerkraut, two handfuls of dry egg noodles, 2 cans cream of chicken or mushroom soup. Add water if too sticky. Bake 350º, 20-25 minutes.
