Isn’t it fun to work together and have a lot of fun and visiting. Last Thursday we meet at our church basement for our ELCA meeting and tied quilts which we send over seas and also give to charities and anyone who needs them around our community. We sew the tops at home then bring them to what we call Do-Day. We come at 9 am and work till 3 pm. Sometimes we have a group that serves our noon meal, sometimes we bring our sack lunch and once in a while we run up town for lunch. We do our quilt making once a month from October thru March, and it is so much fun and in our hearts we know we will keep someone warm with our home-made quilts. See you girls in February again.

A salesman stopped at a farmhouse and asked the woman who answered the door if her husband were home. “Yes, he’s over in the cow barn,” she told him.” “I’d like to speak to him, will I have any trouble finding him?” “None at all,” she answered, “He’s the one with the horns!”

Home economics teacher: “When the sauce begins to boil, put in a tablespoon of water.” Student: “Level or heaping?”

Co-operate: Remember the banana - everytime it leaves the bunch it gets skinned.

The average man now lives 30 year longer than he did in 1800. He has to, to get his taxes paid.

May find herself
In some outlandish fixes.
But most of them
Can be relived
By hand ready-mixes.
There’s ready-mix for
Cakes and Pies
Another for the crust;
And in a real emergency
The “instants” are a must.
There’s instant coffee, instant tea
And instant soups and gravy -
But no one yet has figured how
To have an “instant” baby!

Signs of Life
• On a California bank: Don’t kiss our girls. They’re all tellers.
• On swimming pool: If you drink - don’t dive.
• In front of a Chicago church: All new sermons - no reruns.
• A man doesn’t live by bread alone. He needs buttering up once in a while.
• When you care enough to give the very best - give money.

Know how
• Whole spices taste best in slow-cooked dished,
• Simmering releases their full flavor and aroma.
• Ground spices release their flavor immediately and may be added about 15 minutes before the end of the cooking period.
• Crumble whole or leaf herbs just before you use them to let out more flavor.

Pepsi Roast
1 (2 lb) beef roast
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix
1 (12 oz) can regular Pepsi
Place roast in baking dish or roaster. Pour soup over roast. Sprinkle dry soup mix over mushroom soup. Pour Pepsi around roast. Bake 350º until done. It makes its own gravy.
