Had it not been for the efforts of Pine Island 24 hours earlier, the Fillmore girls would've knocked off an unbeaten team Tuesday night. As it were, Connor Nagle and company handed D-E their first conference loss whilst notching a nice early SEC win. Though the Eagles out-rebounded the Falcons (36-18), they also turned the ball over 25 times (to Fillmore's 10). Both teams were atrocious from the free throw line (D-E 40%, FC 45%). The lady Falcons simply shot more (29 to 15), and made more (13 to 6). Those seven points were the 56-50 winning difference. Newly crowned Fillmore Central career-scoring leader Connor Nagle led all scorers with 24. Nashia Soland pitched in 11. Nagle, Soland, and Alex Peterson had 5 steals each. Taylor Jean had 20 for the Eagles.
