The Caledonia Warrior boys entered their contest with Kingsland a perfect 7-0 on the season, or good enough for a #3 ranking in Class 2A. They had yet to be tested in conference, but the Knights put an end to that. Senior guard Joey Strike nailed six of his team's nine three-point baskets. He led all scorers with 19 points. Junior backcourt mate Tanner Lange chipped in 17 points. Both of their efforts weren't quite enough though. Four Warrior players hit double-figures headed by Mitch Reiser (16). Ultimately, the Knights free throw shooting, 5 of 14, meant the difference between beautiful upset win, and close good loss. Caledonia prevailed 63-60.

The Knight boys got redemption, though, three days later against Dover-Eyota. Strike and Lange were again Kingsland's feature combination. Lange scored 18, Strike 15. One half of the 6'5" Harder-twin-towers, Jacob (as opposed to Trenton) got 10 also. The Knights free throw shooting was better. They hit on 11 of 19. Moreover, their defense was stout. They held the Eagles to 13 first half points. The final score was Kingsland 53, D-E 37.
