Local professionals explore medicinal herbs and farm raised meat

Lanesboro, MN - January 18, 2011 - Lanesboro Local Marketplace is hosting two enrichment classes on February 5, 2011. Bonnie Kreckow, a clinical herbalist will give an introduction to herbal medicine - Nature's pharmacy. Andrew Bunge and Christian Myrah will share their experience as producers of pasture raised lamb taking us From Pasture to Plate.

Bonnie has been an herbal practitioner for 10 years and a student of medicinal plants for 16 years. She loves teaching herbal medicine to others and is the founder of the MidAmerica Herbal Symposium. Bonnie will explore the plants growing in your yard, in the woods, along the creek bank and explain their medicinal qualities. She will start out with a little history and then get into the plants, who they are, what they do, and how they do it. Join Bonnie Kreckow on February 5, 2011, at the Cottage House Inn in Lanesboro at 1:00 PM. There is a cost for the class and payable at the class.

Andrew Bunge from Twin Oak Farm and Christian Myrah from Breezy Bluff Farm will discuss raising and caring of pasture-raised lamb on the family farm. From Pasture to Plate will feature local lamb, how to use a variety of cuts of meat, recipes, and delicious samples. Join Andy and Christian at 3:30 PM February 5, 2011, at Eagle Bluff. There is a cost for the class and payable at the class. Following the class will be Eagle Bluff's February Dinner on the Bluff, a delicious meal of local seasonal foods. Call Eagle Bluff to register for the dinner.
