The banquet at the 9th Annual International Festival of Owls may not be serving lutefisk and lefse, but it will feature a keynote presentation by Roar Solheim, senior curator of zoology at Agder Museum of Natural History and Botanical Gardens in Kristiansand, Norway.

Roar's deep and divining interest in owls has led him to studies of European Pygmy, Boreal, Ural, Great Gray, Tawny, Snowy, and European Eagle Owls. He is a seasoned speaker whose presentations are passionate, fun and engaging. Expect his presentation to be superbly illustrated with photos he has taken as a nature photographer over the past 40 years.

A broadly talented man, some of Roar's other skills include recording bird songs, producing radio nature programs, editing and writing popular and scientific publications, and even fixing toy trains during the long Norwegian winter nights.

Advanced registration is required to attend the International Festival of Owls banquet and Roar's keynote presentation on Saturday, March 5. Please visit www.festivalofowls.com for more information and online registration or call the Houston Nature Center at 507-896-HOOT (4668). Please note that there are a limited number of tickets available and it is expected to sell out.
