Rehearsals for Lanesboro Community Theater's (LCT) production of "The Cemetery Club" are well underway and director Barbara Benson Keith reports that everyone is having a great time at rehearsals. "The Cemetery Club," by Ivan Menchell, strives to answer the question of how and when do you let go of a loved one. The play introduces us to three widows who all cope with their losses in very different ways. Don't let the subject matter fool you, the play is a comedy and Barbara Benson Keith sums it up best by saying, "It's a funny script and I know people are going to love the show. It's got heart."

In addition to the opportunity to see a great show, the LCT offers the unique opportunity to see local residents playing the characters. Lucille (Sandy Webb) is flirtatious and an avid dater. Doris (Bonnie Hulsing) has a tendency to meddle and is very entrenched in her routine. Ida (Val Tindall) is practical and serves as the voice of reason while trying to figure out how to move forward. Add Sam (Peter Torkelson) into the mix and there is bound to be some drama which is only compounded when another woman (Mildred-shared by Diane Haight/Maureen Anderson) comes into the mix.

Performances are at the historic St. Mane Theater in Lanesboro on February 25th, 26, 27 and March 4, 5, and 6. For more information on the LCT check them out on Facebook or at their website http://lanesborocommunitytheater.blogspot.com. They hope to see you at the show! This production is made possible in cooperation with the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, Inc, through funding from the Minnesota State Legislature.
