Yes, we have had lots of rain, but being dried out must be awful. I heard one lady say, “all I get done is paying the guy who mows my lawn, which he has been mowing twice a week.” I wonder what she would say if the lawn was brown and brunt up, like out in Colorado. I guess we went through that back in the 30’s and it wasn’t very nice. Aren’t people strange, first they complain of all the dandelions, and now its mowing the lawns. Hope you farmers get a dry spell for a few days to chop your hay. I like the rain, everything is so green . . . and wet.

Barber to customer being shaved: “so you want anything on your face when I get through?”
Customer: “Well, yes, I would like to have my nose left.”
. . . . .
Little Mary at bedtime: “When daddy comes home he’ll tell us a story, won’t he mama?”
Mama: You bet my dear, and it better be a good one!”
. . . . .
The driver is safer when the roads are dry . . . the roads are safer when the driver is dry.

The first record of ice cream was in 62 A.D. when special runners in Rome, whisked snow from nearby mountains and raced it to the cook before it melted to be flavored with honey, juice, or fruit pulp.
. . . . .
There are bigger things in life than money . . . bills.
. . . . .
If God should ask
Why is it, when we’re asked to aid God’s work today
we are suddenly too busy or we plead for a delay?
If God would ask us personally “will you do this for me?”
I wonder how many of us would answer “yes,” and mean it honestly.
Is yours the gift of song or speech or is it a helping hand?
Each one is special and needed to spread Gods word in our land.
When you’re called to do a task, take time to think
what you would say, if God himself should ask.
. . . . .
Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, hate less, love more, and all good things will be yours.
. . . . .
When you make jam or jelly to give as gifts, put it in a coffee mug instead of a jelly glass. It makes a nice personal gift.

Roses need to be watered deep enough to encourage deep root growth. Try and water early in the day to prevent fungus on the leaves that get wet.
