The Semcac Board of Directors is looking for one person to represent the interests of the consumer from Fillmore County.

The board includes three groups from the community: one-third represent the public sector; one-third represent the consumer; and one-third represent community organizations. Semcac serves the counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Steele and Winona.

Board meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at the Community Center in St. Charles. The individuals elected will work with the other board members to determine goals and set policies for the private, non-profit corporation. Board representatives are reimbursed for mileage and day care for their participation on the board. The person elected to fill this vacancy will complete a four-year or a two-year term, both of which begin on April 1, 2011.

If you are interested in serving on the Semcac Board, you need to fill out an application form that can be obtained by calling the Semcac field office in Preston, (507) 765-2761 or the Rushford office (507) 864-7741. Your services are needed to insure that the needs of the local consumers are being addressed. If you know anyone that might be interested in serving on the Semcac Board, please share this opportunity with them.

Further information is available by calling Mary Jo Grimsrud at (507) 864-8202 or emailing maryjo.grimsrud@semcac.org. Semcac is an equal opportunity employer.
