What a fun day, dont plan anything, just do what you want to. My friend Betty came the other day. She called me in the morning and said she was coming over at 1:00 p.m. When she got to my house we just decided to call on another friend of ours, which we did, but she had other plans. We talked a few minutes with her and then went on to Preston. We stopped in to see her niece, Rosalie, and talked, laughed, and visited there over an hour. On our way home we stopped at a couple of Amish homes and picked up a few things. Got home to my house about 5:00 p.m., said thanks and good-bye and she was off for her home in Ridgeway. What a fun afternoon we had.

In the evening I drove out to my sons place and a fellow named Samloo came to pick up a junk car from Marty. When they got it loaded on his flat-bed trailer, we stood, talked, and laughed about nicknames when he and Marty were in school. It was getting dark before I got home, but what a great day. When I got up that morning I had nothing planned, what a surprise day I had.

Two farmers were chatting over coffee at the local diner. I see your son is driving a car now, said one. How long did it take him to learn? About 2 1/2 cars, replied the other farmer sadly.

It must have taken a lot of courage to discover that frog legs are edible.

Nature has an annoying way of putting the most vitamins in the foods kids refuse to eat.

Ole was spending some time in Dodge City during the frontier days. He stalked into a saloon yelling, all right, where is da galoot that painted my horse purple? RIGHT HERE! answered a vicious looking cowpoke standing about seven feet tall. What are you going to do about it? Nutting, Ole answered with a gulp, I just wanted to let you know dat da first coat is dry.

1. When boiling potatoes, drop a pea-size dab of margarine into the water as it comes to a boil. It stops the foam that would otherwise boil over and make a mess.

2. When you dont have cheesecloth available to bundle up spices for pickling and other uses, tie the spices in a coffee filter instead. It works great.

3. After a big supper, you may still feel sudden hunger while watching TV. Slowly eat a plain piece of white bread without anything on it. Wash it down with plain water. For some strange reason, this will not only satisfy your hunger, but relax you too.

When at night one
cannot sleep,
a common cure
is counting sheep.
But what do you do
if youre so tense,
you cant make the
darned sheep jump the fence?

First cowboy: Why did you get a dachshund?
Second cowboy: Another cowboy told me to get a long little dogie.
