Oswald P. Miller

Oswald P. Miller, 86, of Rushford, died September 26, 2002, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital.

Oswald was born on March 15, 1916, at Newhouse, rural Mabel, Minn. to Edward and Alma (Solberg) Miller. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Alaskan theater from 1941 to 1945. Oswald spent most of his younger years as a farm laborer and later became a self employed farmer until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. and was a lifetime member of the First Lutheran Church of Highland, where he also served on the church council. Oswald enjoyed spending his leisure time fishing and reading. He is survived by one brother, William (Fern) Miller of Whalan; one sister, Mildred Glenna of Rushford, and by four nieces and nephews. Oswald was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edwin, Leo, and Norman.

The funeral service were held on September 30, 2002 at the First Lutheran Church of Highland in Highland, with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hoff Funeral Homes Rushford Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
