We Minnesotans lost a truly honorable man in the north woods on October 25. Something that in recent years has become more of an exception than the rule in today's politics. I think a proper way to honor such a man would be for Minnesotans to lead the nation in voter turnout again this year. I certainly would not try to convince anyone who to vote for, or which political party to support. This kind of behavior would not pay proper homage to such a man. Instead I suggest that as true Minnesotans we pay our respect to the Wellstone family members, staff and pilots by exercising our privilege to vote. It makes little difference which candidates you support, just vote your conscience. Please let's remember these heroic Minnesotans who literally gave their lives trying to make our country a better place to live by voting. Let's not forget that the only vote that really doesn't count is the one that isn't cast. So I say Godspeed Senator Wellstone and I hope that we make you proud on November 5 by voting.
