About a dozen peace advocates, opposed to war with Iraq, marched in Preston on Saturday, January 18, in solidarity with anti-war demonstrations in Washington, D.C. and other major cities in the United States and throughout the world. The group known as the Rural Peacemakers plan similar marches in towns throughout Fillmore County. The group marched in Spring Valley on Saturday, January 25 and plan to demonstrate in Rushford, February 1; Harmony, February 8; Lanesboro, February 15; and Chatfield, February 22.
