Kermit Meyer, 70, of rural Wykoff died March 9, 2003 at his home.

He was born April 2, 1932, on his family's rural Wykoff farm, where he lived all his life. Kermit was the son of Herman and Algie (Hanley) Meyer. He attended school in Fillmore and St. John Evangelical Lutheran School in Wykoff. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 in Germany. He married Louella Albrecht in 1956 in Chatfield. The couple made their home on the family farm, which he owned with his brother. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the Spring Valley VFW and the Wykoff American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marcia Leibold of Chatfield; a son, Randy of Wykoff; three granddaughters; and two brothers, Ervin "Red" of Wykoff and LuVerne of Rochester. He was preceded in death by a grandson.

The funeral was March 12, 2003 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wykoff, with the Rev. Peter J. Sestak officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley was in charge of arrangements.
