The Commonweal Theatre Company announces performance dates in 2011 for its County Free Nights. Theatre-lovers living and/or working in Fillmore or Houston counties may attend Ibsen's classic drama An Enemy of the People on Thursday, April 14th; the outrageous comedy Sylvia on Thursday, May 19th; the classic campy musical Little Shop of Horrors on Thursday, June 23rd; the powerful drama of To Kill a Mockingbird on Thursday, September 15th; and the holiday romantic-comedy of Parfumerie on Thursday, December 1st.

All evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and while admission to the performances is free of charge, seating is limited and reservations are strongly recommended at least two weeks in advance. County Free Nights at the Commonweal Theatre are made possible with support from the Preston Area Community Foundation, Houston Dental Clinic, Randi Berg, M.D. of Harmony, Cross Cuts, Doc's Blue Moose Café, and Spring Grove Cinema from Spring Grove, and members of Commonweal's Million Dollar Club.

"We have received more response from the public on this program than most others we support," says Chuck Aug, treasurer for the Preston Area Community Foundation. "It allows a broad range of area residents to participate and is a way to build goodwill with our supporters and broaden our exposure." Dr. Randi Berg of Harmony adds, "My husband and I are proud to call ourselves supporters of the Commonweal Theatre. It is critically important to us, in this age of electronic entertainment, that our children develop a love of and appreciation for live theatre."

Individuals and businesses wishing to contribute additional support to the County Free program are welcome to contact Stef Dickens, Commonweal's Director of Development, at 507-467-2905, ext. 214 or emailing stef@commonwealtheatre.org. The Commonweal Theatre Company is a non-profit professional theatre located at 208 Parkway Avenue North in historic downtown Lanesboro.
