Felony Charges

Wesley Duane Alden, 35, of Preston has been charged with two felony counts of first degree driving while impaired following his arrest on November 26 in Fountain. He is also charged with driving without a license, possession or sale of small amounts of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the criminal complaint, the defendant was reported to the police to have been driving irratically and eventually hit a utility pole with his vehicle. Law enforcement later apprehended Alden in a Fountain bar. His blood alcohol level tested at the scene was .19.

Judge Robert Benson placed Alden on electronic home monitoring. His next court appearance is December 8.

Felony Disposition

Travis Ryan Jansgaard, 19, of Rushford pled guilty to two felony charges, including theft of a motor vehicle and criminal damage to property, related to an incident in Rushford on August 18.

For theft of a motor vehicle, Jansgaard was sentenced to 366 days in prison, with a stay of imposition for 5 years. The defendant was placed on probation, ordered to serve 90 days in jail, pay a $50 fine and make restitution of $120. He must also complete treatment in a half way house.

For criminal damage to property, Jansgaard was sentenced to 366 days in prison with a stay of execution for 5 years. He was placed on probation and must make restitution of $6,191.42.
