In searching for their first win of the early season, things didn't look the best for the GMLOK Bulldogs 4 ½ innings into their contest with Caledonia-Spring Grove. C-SG had just scored four runs in the top of the inning to take a 5-3 lead. They'd ousted GMLOK starting pitcher Trevor Gomer. But the Bulldogs answered with a 5th inning statement of their own, getting back-to-back-to-back singles to load the bases. Alan McCaulley then singled the first two runners in, tying the game at five. Back-to-back walks scored a run and kept the bases full. A Trevor Gomer 2-RBI single capped the inning, and pushed GMLOK back ahead 8-5. Freshmen pitcher Trenton Bleifus then sealed the deal, tossing the final three innings, surrendering zero hits and zero runs, while collecting three strikeouts and a win. The Bulldogs notched win #1 on the year, 8-5. Caleb Leichtnam was the hitting ace, going 3-4, driving in a run, scoring another, while stealing his 7th base in three games. C-SG's Seth Kasten matched Leichtnam's hitting expertise, also going 3-4 with an RBI and a SB.
